Review by Underdogs:
Pocket Rockets is a fun action-style motorcycle racing game that isn't very well known. Which is unfortunately, since the game is noteworthy for introducing a new kind of race into the genre: drag racing. Either against the clock or championship record, your goal in drag racing is to strike a fine balance between speed and drag: to "fight" against the drag, in other words. Although you are not racing against anyone, drag racing is quite challenging, although not very realistic-- it is easy to bring your bike to a complete stop even at top speed.
There are 4 motorcycles to choose from in either normal racing or drag racing mode: Suzuki Katana, Kawasaki Ninja, Yamaha FZR, and Honda Hurricane, each with its own characteristics, although not altogether realistically modeled. The absence of other cyclers to race against limits the game's appeal, but for those who enjoy besting their own times or practicing the fine art of drag racing, Pocket Rockets fits the bill.
